Table Linen: Table Runners, Placemats and Tablecloths

Table linen is one of the easiest ways to change the look of a dining table through the year. This collection includes table runners, placemat and coaster sets and a classic white tablecloth, with designs that run from neutral woven stripes and linen effect to leaf prints, florals, geometric patterns and seasonal designs.

Choosing table linen

Table runners

Measure the length of your table first. A runner usually looks best when it either stops short of each end or hangs a little over each end, rather than finishing just at the edge. The Linen Effect Table Runner in cream is listed in a small size, so check the dimensions against your table. Neutral runners such as the Diamond Weave, the Dove runner in grey and the Woven Striped runner work all year, while the Autumn Woodland Check and Deco Luxe Snowflake runners suit autumn and winter.

Placemats and coasters

Placemats protect the table from plates and cutlery, and matching coasters do the same for glasses and mugs. Our sets come in Farmhouse blue leaf and pink leaf, Geo monochrome and Leaf ZigZag ecru designs.

Tablecloths

To size a tablecloth, measure the length and width of the table and add twice the drop you want on each side. A drop of around 20 to 30cm is common for everyday dining.

Mixing and layering

A runner can be laid over the White Classic Tablecloth for special occasions, or used on its own on a bare wooden table. Pick one colour from the runner and repeat it elsewhere on the table for a coordinated look.
