Read moreA fabric sofa is warm to sit on in winter, soft to curl up on, and comes in more colours and textures than any other cover. The choice of fabric decides how it feels, how it wears and how easy it is to keep clean.

Types of sofa fabric
Chenille
Chenille has a soft, slightly raised pile and is one of the most popular sofa fabrics. It's comfortable, hard-wearing and hides everyday marks well.
Velvet
Velvet gives rich colour and a luxurious feel. It shows the direction of the pile, which is part of its character, and it suits a sofa that is used carefully.
Linen and weaves
Linen-look and woven fabrics feel natural and relaxed, and suit Scandinavian and country rooms.
Choosing a colour
Grey and natural tones are the easiest to live with and to change around with cushions and throws. Darker colours and textured weaves hide marks best in a busy family room. Blues and greens bring colour without being as demanding as a bright shade.
Fabric sofas for families and pets
A tightly woven, textured fabric copes best with children and pets. Avoid loose weaves that claws can catch, and choose a mid-tone colour rather than very pale or very dark, both of which show hair and dust.
Caring for a fabric sofa
Vacuum regularly with an upholstery brush, plump and turn cushions to keep them even, and blot spills straight away rather than rubbing. Keep the sofa out of strong direct sunlight to stop the colour fading.
Fabric corner, recliner and sofa beds
Fabric covers come on every type of sofa here, from 2 seaters and 3 seaters to corner sofas, recliners and sofa beds.
Delivery, assembly and packaging
Sofas are delivered in 2 to 3 weeks unless the product page says otherwise. Our own team delivers across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, carries the sofa into the room you choose, and assembles it and takes the packaging away free of charge. The only exception is sofa beds, where assembly is optional at the cost shown on the product.
