Corner Sofas & L-Shaped Sofas

Sofa Buying FAQs
How do I choose the right size sofa?
Measure the wall or space the sofa is going to go in first, and then make sure it will fit through your doorways, hallways and any tight turns on the way in. As a rule of thumb, a 2 seater is great for smaller spaces and snugs, a 3 seater will fit most living rooms and a corner couch is good if you want to seat additional people or make use of an underutilised area. Leave some space around walkways so the room is still practical to move about in.
Are fabric or leather sofas better?
Neither is superior outright, it’s down to your household and preferences. Fabric couches come in the largest spectrum of hues and have a soft, comfortable feel that complements family settings. Leather sofas are tough, easy to maintain and develop a gorgeous patina with time. These qualities make them a popular choice for active houses and pet owners. Pay attention to the quality of the frame and cushions , as that will decide how long either will survive.
How long should a good sofa last?
A good sofa is likely to endure anywhere from approximately 7 to 15 years, and a good leather sofa can last much longer with proper maintenance. The life of a couch is mostly defined by the structure of its frame, the density of its cushion foam and the amount of use the sofa gets. Regular light care, fluffing cushions, vacuuming corners and dealing with spills right away, helps keep any sofa comfortable and looking its best for longer.
What's the difference between a corner sofa and an L-shaped sofa?
Basically, they are the same item expressed in two different ways. An L-shaped corner sofa (or occasionally a U-shaped corner couch) is a sofa that is meant to fit into a corner of a room. The important choices are whether you want it left- or right-facing, and whether an L-shape or a wider U-shape suits your area better – so it’s worth measuring both walls out from the corner before you buy.
Do recliner sofas come in electric and manual versions?
Yes. Manual recliners have a simple lever or push-back action and tend to be the more cheap alternative. Electric (power) recliners allow you to find your position at the touch of a button, typically with added capabilities on chosen models. If you choose a recliner, make sure to provide a little additional room behind and in front of the sofa so that the footrest and back may move freely.

We have a selection of our sofas on display at our Enniskillen showroom, so you're very welcome to visit, try them for comfort and see the fabrics and colours in real light. Not every model is on display, as our range is larger than the showroom floor, but our team can talk you through the options, show you fabric samples and help you choose the right sofa for your home — whether you're buying in store or online.
