Scandinavian-inspired design with real substance behind it. Softnord has been hand-crafting upholstery for over three decades, and its range runs from clean Scandinavian lines to UK-specific designs with deeper seats and higher backs. Most models are modular, so you can build the sofa around your room rather than the other way round, and there are over 100 fabric options to choose from, plus your choice of arms, feet and finishes. Pedro Ortiz — Exclusive to Foy's Interiors in This Area
Spanish craftsmanship from Yecla, where the family has been making sofas for over fifty years. Pedro Ortiz specialises in sofas with proper engineering behind them — electric and sliding sofas, recliners and sofa beds — built on a reputation for quality materials and construction that lasts. If you want a mechanism that still works properly in ten years' time, this is the name to know. Made to order in approximately 8 to 10 weeks.
Primavera — Exclusive to Foy's Interiors in This Area
A European lounge furniture specialist making sofas and corner sofas since 2006, with a growing following across Western Europe, Scandinavia and North America. Primavera focuses on understanding what people actually want from a sofa, and backs it with a wide fabric collection. Made to order in approximately 10 to 12 weeks.
Alstons
A British name with genuine heritage — Alstons has roots going back to 1860, and has spent the last sixty years building a reputation as one of the country's leading upholstery manufacturers. Made in Colchester by a skilled workforce of around 200, every sofa is built to order, and there's a choice of over 350 interchangeable fabrics sourced from some of the finest mills in Europe. Bouyant
Over a century of upholstery expertise, and it shows. Buoyant has been making furniture since 1909 from its Lancashire factory, and it's the manufacturer behind quality upholstery for many well-known high street names. The range is broad — sofas, corner groups, chairs, sofa beds, motion furniture and swivel chairs — with an emphasis on comfort that runs through everything they make. How Ordering a Bespoke Sofa Works
Visit the showroom. This is the part you can't skip, and honestly you wouldn't want to. Fabric samples are viewed in store rather than posted out, and that's deliberate — colour on a screen is meaningless, and a fabric that looks warm grey online can look cold and blue on your wall. You need to see it in real light, feel the weight of the weave, and sit on the frame.
Choose your specification. Our team will talk you through the sizes, layouts, fabrics and leg options for each manufacturer, and help you narrow it down. Bring your room measurements and a photo of the space, and we'll tell you honestly what will work and what won't.
Your sofa is built. Lead times run from around 8 weeks to 13 weeks depending on the manufacturer. We'll give you a realistic date, not an optimistic one.
Delivery. We'll keep you updated on progress and arrange a delivery date that suits you.
Is a Bespoke Sofa Worth It?
Honestly, it depends.
If your room is a standard shape and you've found a sofa you love, buy it. There's no virtue in paying more for bespoke you don't need.
But if you have a space that nothing fits, if you want a colour or fabric that simply isn't offered off the shelf, if you're tall and need a deeper seat, or if you want a sofa that will still be right in fifteen years — that's when made to measure earns its money. You're not paying for a label. You're paying for a sofa that fits.

How long does a bespoke sofa take to make?
It depends on the manufacturer. Pedro Ortiz, Alstons and Bouyant sofas are typically made in 8 to 10 weeks. Softnord and Primavera usually take 10 to 12 weeks. La-Z-Boy, which involves more complex reclining mechanisms, takes around 13 weeks. We'll always give you a realistic timeframe when you order, and keep you updated on progress.
Can I get fabric samples for a bespoke sofa?
Fabric samples are available to view in our Enniskillen showroom rather than by post. That's for a good reason: a screen never shows a colour honestly, and fabric looks completely different depending on the light in a room. In store you can see the full range, feel the weight and texture of each weave, and compare them side by side against the frames — which is the only way to be genuinely confident in your choice before committing.
What can I customise on a made to measure sofa?
You can choose the size, the layout and configuration, the fabric or leather and its colour, and the style and colour of the legs. Each manufacturer offers its own range of options within that, so what's possible varies a little between brands. Our team will talk you through exactly what each one allows.
Can a bespoke sofa be built to fit an awkward space?
Yes — it's one of the main reasons people choose made to measure. A narrow alcove, a bay window, a low sill, or a doorway that standard sofas won't pass through can all be worked around. Bring us the measurements, or photos of the space, and we'll tell you honestly what's possible.
Can I return a bespoke sofa?
Because a bespoke sofa is built to your own specification — your size, your fabric, your layout — it can't be returned or exchanged simply because you change your mind. This is standard across the industry for made to order furniture, and it's the reason we ask you to take your time over every choice before we place the order.
It's also why fabric samples are viewed in store rather than posted out. We'd far rather spend an hour with you getting it right than have you commit to something you're unsure about.
