Bedroom Furniture — Beds, Mattresses & Storage
A bedroom is bought in three parts, and they are rarely bought at the same time: the bed, the mattress that goes in it, and the furniture that fills the rest of the room. We have been a family furniture business since 1981, and our showroom in Enniskillen carries all three.
Everything below is a route into one of them. Start wherever your room is short.
Bed frames by size
Single, small double, double, king and super king, in the UK standard sizes. Size is the decision that cannot be undone later, because the mattress, the headboard and the bedding all follow from it.
Measure the room before the bed. As a working figure, leave around 2ft (60cm) of clear floor on the sides and at the foot, or the bed will be the only thing in the room you can use comfortably.
Bed frames by type
Ottoman storage beds, standard frames, children's beds and sofa beds. Type is a question about what else the bed has to do: hold storage, sleep two children, become a bed only when guests arrive, or simply hold a mattress and stay out of the way.
Bed frames by material
Wooden and upholstered. The two age differently rather than one being better, and that is usually the more useful basis for choosing between them.
Mattresses
In all five UK sizes, in memory foam and pocket sprung. The mattress is the part of the bedroom you are in contact with for a third of your life, and it is the piece most worth spending on when the budget has to go somewhere.
It has to be the same size as the frame, and the figure to measure is the inside of the frame rather than the outside.
Headboards
Upholstered, in single, double and king. A headboard is bought either because the bed came without one or because the one it came with is not something you would want to lean against. How it fixes to the bed matters as much as the size, since a divan base and a wooden frame take different fittings.
Bedroom storage
Wardrobes, chests of drawers, bedside tables, dressing tables and blanket boxes. This is the part of the room bought last and thought about least, and it is what decides whether the bedroom stays tidy once the bed is in it.

The range online is considerably larger than what fits in the shop, so not everything is on display, but the team can take you through sizes, firmness and storage and help you work out what suits your room, whether you buy there or here.
Four decades of selling furniture is mostly four decades of watching what comes back and what does not. That is what the people on the floor are drawing on when they tell you a frame is worth the extra or a mattress is not.

What is in the bedroom range?
Bed frames in every UK size and in several types and materials, mattresses to match, headboards, and the furniture that goes around them: wardrobes, chests of drawers, bedside tables, dressing tables and blanket boxes.
Do the mattress and bed frame have to be the same size?
Yes. Measure the inside of the frame rather than its outside dimensions, since the frame sits wider and longer than the mattress it holds.
How much space should I leave around a bed?
Around 2ft (60cm) at the sides and the foot as a working minimum. Ottoman beds need more at the foot again, because the base has to lift.
Do you sell bedroom furniture sets?
Not as packs. Many of the ranges run across several pieces in the same finish, but each piece is sold on its own, so you buy what you need and add to it later.
Can I see the beds and mattresses before buying?
Yes, in our Enniskillen showroom. Not every model is on the floor, but there is enough out to compare sizes and try the difference between one mattress and another.
