It is not the same as easy clean, wipeable or stain resistant, all of which describe a surface that resists a spill rather than a rug that survives a wash cycle. There are no washable runners and no washable round designs, so if you are looking for something for a hallway or a kitchen galley, the shape comes first and the washing does not follow. On a hard floor it is not: a backing stops the rug fraying, not sliding.
